Program Signaling Information and Updates

The MyERAS application gives residency and fellowship applicants the ability to use program signals to indicate genuine interest in a program at the time of application. They are designed for programs to use, as one of many data points, in deciding whom to invite for interviews.

  • New for the 2026 ERAS season, July fellowship cycle applicants can use signals to indicate interest in programs at the time of application. A list of participating specialties for the 2026 July fellowship cycle is now available.
  • Visit the Program Signaling for the 2026 MyERAS Application Season webpage for detailed information on program signals and the specialties participating this season.
  • Beginning in late August 2025, visit the Residency Programs Participating in Program Signaling webpage to see the full list of programs that are participating in signaling for the 2026 ERAS residency season.
  • You can assign and send signals to programs at the time of application. The number of available signals varies by specialty.
